Safety is much more than having a documentable program—it’s an attitude. At Star, we believe safe working environments are a necessity and a priority. So we go beyond compliance. We expect all of our employees to be safety conscious and develop worksites that are evidence of that.

Every employee must pledge to abide by the guidelines set forth in the Star Excavating Safety Program. It includes:

  • On-site “toolbox talks”
  • OSHA training sessions
    • 30-hour

  • MSHA training sessions
    • 24-hour
    • 8-hour
  • First aid and CPR
  • Competent person training
  • Confined space training
  • General hazmat training
  • Silica awareness training
  • Guest speaker lectures on safety procedures
